The new Silver Rider Bus schedule that became effective Oct. 2, is available for viewing and printing through this Web link: Silver Rider Bus Schedule
The changes were announced recently by the Board of Directors of the Southern Nevada Transit Coalition (SNTC), operators of the Silver Rider Transit service.
When the bus service changes were first announced in July, the SNTC proposed ending the service hours around 10:00 pm, two hours earlier than the current schedule provides citing funding shortages. Citizens protested the early cutoff at a July public hearing held by the SNTC in Mesquite.
The SNTC worked with the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) to locate a new funding source and keep the buses running until 12:18 a.m., seven days a week.
Additionally, the SNTC Board implemented a 24-hour day pass also effective Oct. 2, that will cost $5.00 full fare and $2.00 reduced fare. Mesquite visitors and residents planning multiple trips or destinations on the buses within a 24 hour period will benefit from the savings over regular fares for each individual bus ride.
The senior door to door transportation offered by Silver Rider is unaffected by the fixed route service consolidation. Senior transportation requires that reservations be made at least 24 hours in advance by calling 702-346-7006.
