August Photo Contest Now Taking Entries
Posting Date: 08/01/2012

The staff of the Mesquite Citizen Journal sponsors its continuing monthly feature–a contest for all amateur photography bugs out there who, like us, take a gazillion photos.

Time to pull out all your favorite photographs and submit your favorite into the contest.

Monthly winners will receive a $50 gift certificate (purchased by MCJ) from a randomly chosen Mesquite business. Monthly winners will compete in an annual online contest for a $100 certificate to a local business.

Rules:

•Photo submissions must include name, address, and email address of the photographer.

•Each contestant may only submit one photo per month on any subject (MCJ staff reserves the right to reject any photograph deemed inappropriate).

•The first 20 photos received

by the MCJ will compete in each monthly contest.

•All photos remain the property of the photographer. Submission grants the MCJ the right to publish photographs.

•Photos must be:

•submitted by the 15th day of each month.

•original work–no copyright infringements please.

•submitted in jpeg file format no smaller than 500 pixels wide or 500 pixels high in an email to: barbara@mesquitecitizen.com.

•Contestants are encouraged to submit captions, 50 words or less, describing their entries.

•A person can win only one monthly contest per year.

•Readers may vote on submissions online from the 15th to the end of each month.

•MCJ staff and family members are ineligible.

•MCJ staff reserves the right to change the rules of the contest when deemed necessary or appropriate.

•MCJ is not responsible for verifying authenticity or copyright infringement of submissions.

Get out your cameras and start snapping!
