The following incidents were taken, in part, from the Mesquite Police Department blotter for the week of July 21-28, 2012. All persons involved in these incidents are presumed innocent until proven guilty by the court.
07/21/12 Police officer took a report of a stolen cellular phone, stolen at a local casino.
07/21/12 Officer responded to a local casino, reference found bag containing drug
paraphernalia. Officer recovered the items and booked the items into the Mesquite Evidence Vault.
07/22/12 Officers responded to a local residence for a report of a robbery. An adult
male was battered and robbed in a local parking lot. An investigation is underway.
07/22/12 Officer responded to a local motel, reference a suspicious incident. The reporting party advised she had been left stranded by a friend. The friend was located and a traffic stop was conducted. A K9 search was conducted on the vehicle. The K9 alerted on several places in the vehicle. Methamphetamine and narcotic paraphernalia were recovered. Arrests were made.
07/22/12 An officer responded to the lobby of the police station for a report of stolen
property. A report was taken and an investigation is underway.
07/22/12 An Officer stopped a vehicle on a public roadway for a registration violation.
Due to the driver having active traffic warrants he was arrested for suspended registration and no vehicle insurance. The vehicle was inventoried and impounded.
07/23/12 An officer responded to the local highway to transfer custody of an adult male from Metro Police to Mesquite PD. The adult male was arrested on an outstanding warrant and transported to Mesquite for further booking.
07/23/12 A victim of fraud came to the police department to report an incident that had
occurred with his credit. Information was gathered and an investigation started.
07/23/12 Police were called to a local residence for a burglary report. The residence involved is vacant and used for storage. The suspects reportedly took numerous power tools. The investigation is on going at this time.
07/23/12 Citizen reported an older male, living alone, possibly needing more assistance
than what friends and family could provide. Spoke with friends and the older male. Provided information for other available federal and community resources.
07/23/12 An officer was dispatched to a residence for a report of a residential burglary. The officer arrived and contacted the victims. During the course of the investigation the officer learned what was taken, at which time a detective was requested to process the scene.
07/23/12 An Officer stopped a vehicle on a public roadway for an equipment violation.
The driver had an active warrant for her arrest. The driver was arrested and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center on the warrant. The vehicle was towed by a tow company off of the rotation list.
07/23/12 An Officer stopped a vehicle for a moving violation on a public roadway. The
driver had four active warrants for his arrest. The driver was arrested and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center. The passenger was released with the vehicle.
07/24/12 Police were called to investigate damage done to locks on mail boxes. Two mail
boxes were found with damaged locks, however the suspects could not make entry. Investigation continues.
07/24/12 Responded to a report of threatening. The incident involved domestic violence
and an arrest was made.
07/24/12 An Officer responded to a local pharmacy to investigate possible missing partial prescription medication. The Officer spoke with the pharmacy employees and the possible victim. The case is still active pending further follow-up investigation by the police department.
07/24/12 Officers responded to a local residence to take a report of a vicious dog, which
had attacked another dog. Officers gathered information from all parties involved, and forwarded the police report to Mesquite Animal Control to complete a citation.
07/24/12 Officer responded to a local casino, reference a possible domestic battery. The
investigation resulted in the arrest of both subjects for domestic battery.
07/25/12 Police responded to a local residence for a dispute between a male and a female.
Investigation showed domestic battery occurred. Male was taken into custody and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center
07/25/12 Officer conducted a search in a local residence, per the verbal consent of the
owner, resulting the recovery of a marijuana cigarette, and drug paraphernalia. The owner was issued a citation for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
07/26/12 Officer responded to a local residence, reference a report of a theft. A Male reported someone had stolen his wallet from the residence while he was sleeping. The wallet was found outside the residence with all of it's content's, with the exception of a missing one hundred dollar bill.
07/26/12 Officers responded to a convenience store, reference an intoxicated adult male
passed out against the building. While speaking with the male; evidence was brought forth, which indicated he had recently damaged a vehicle at the store. The male was issued a citation for his act of vandalism and released.
07/26/12 Officer attempted to conduct a stop on a vehicle, but the driver refused to stop. The driver, an adult male was found to be driving with a revoked Nevada drivers license for DUI. The driver was arrested and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center.
07/26/12 Officer took a report of stolen property, which occurred at a local gold course.
Officer is currently attempting to locate and identify the suspect (s) involved with the theft.
07/26/12 Detectives located and arrested a twenty-two year old adult male, in Las Vegas, on several outstanding juvenile warrants. Male was transported to the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center for processing he was then booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
07/26/12 Officers responded to a report of a suspicious circumstance in a residential neighborhood. Officers located a male adult who had an active arrest warrant. The male adult was arrested for such.
07/27/12 Local resident refused to pay cab fare after being transported from the Eureka
Casino to his residence. Subject was later located, identified, and issued a citation for Defrauding a Taxi Driver.
07/28/12 An officer conducted a traffic stop on a rental truck involved in a suspicious
circumstance and a traffic offense. Following an investigation, an adult male and an adult female were arrested on misdemeanor charges.
07/28/12 An Officer spoke with an adult male regarding a possible theft. The male wanted an information report filed regarding his medication went missing or was possibly stolen from his room during his stay at a local casino. The Officer completed a theft report.
07/28/12 Officers responded to a local residence to meet with a citizen who wanted to
report some suspicious activity which had occurred earlier in the night and again at his residence. Officers gathered information from the complainant regarding the circumstances of both incidents and checked the area for possible suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
07/28/12 Officers responded to a casino reference a theft report. An adult female reported she lost her wallet in the casino and it was stolen. Officers completed a theft report and the investigation is ongoing.
