Pre-Grant Workshop To Be Held Aug 2
Application packets are now available at the City Hall information window or can be downloaded from the City of Mesquite website home page to apply for the $15,000 that the Mesquite City Council approved for the FY2012-2013 budget year. Completed applications are due on Thursday, Aug. 23, by 5 p.m. No late submissions will be accepted.
A mandatory pre-grant workshop for potential applicants will be held on Thursday, Aug. 2, 10:00 a.m. in the Training Rooms on the second floor of City Hall. Organizations who plan to apply for funding must attend this meeting to be eligible for consideration of the grant.
The purpose of the City of Mesquite Community Organization Grant Funding Program is to identify and support innovative projects provided by non-profit 501 © 3 organizations that support the City of Mesquite’s statutory charge to provide for the
Health, Welfare and Public Safety of the residents of Mesquite.
The organization submitting the grant must be recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt agency, a 501(c) 3 or equivalent, and be in good financial standing. The organization must have a non-discriminatory membership and service provision and must serve the best interest of Mesquite residents and visitors.
Grant resources are not provided for individuals or organizations with direct religious activity, political activism, lobbying, legislative activities or legal action, agencies that discriminate based on race, color, creed, age, sexual orientation or national origin, fundraising events, capital campaigns, routine operating expenses, endowments, loans, debt reduction, activities that have already occurred, tickets to dinners or advertising space in program books or other publications, requests for “consumable” items only, indirect costs and others.
