The Salvation Army will once again sponsor the "Backpack to School" program this year.

Anyone wishing to donate school supplies that will be included in the Backpacks are encouraged to drop them off at the Stateline Casino, Mountain America Credit Union, or the Mesquite Cancer Help Society.

Applications will be accepted from those wishing to receive a Backpack at the Salvation Army office located

at 355 W. Mesquite Blvd, Suite B50, Aug. 1 - 15, from 9:00 am to 12:00 Noon.

Backpacks full of school supplies will be handed out to qualified children on Aug. 24, from 9:00 am to 12:00 Noon.

Those receiving the Backpacks must bring the following documentation with them: Nevada Picture ID, children's birth certificates, and proof of income for the last 30 days.
