Don’t Fight Your Battles Undressed
Posting Date: 07/20/2012

By Cheryl Young

The Bad news is you were born into a battle. There is an unseen war going on between good/evil. Blazing arrows of fear fly at you day and night. Use your shield of faith to deflect those flaming arrows. To win the invisible war we must get dressed for Battle.

Put on God’s armor that you may be able to successfully stand up against the strategies and deceits of the devil. Ephesians 6:11

When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, the first thing they did was run away and try to hide from God. It didn’t work for them, and it won’t work for us. God has a plan for us, he provides us with armor for the battle.

He tells us to stand firm with a belt of truth, a breastplate of righteousness, shoes of the gospel of peace, a shield of faith, a helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, and to pray at all times. Notice there’s nothing provided to protect our backside.

That’s because God never intended us to run from our enemies. His plan was and still is that with Him at our side we can face any issue in our life that is a problem. Life is more than a struggle; it’s a spiritual battle. Thank God for equipping us with armor.

Join us this Sunday as we learn more about God’s armor. Our regular Sunday morning worship services are at 8:00 a.m. and 10:45a.m Also at 6:00 p.m. we have an hour-long discussion of the day's sermon for a more in-depth study and understanding. We are located at 700 Hardy Way, Mesquite. We are next door to the new Police Station and across from the Storage Units. For more information, transportation or to request prayer call 346-7061 or visit our website at fbcmesquite.com.
