Cedar City Woman Arrested for Drug Trafficking

Mesquite Police Officers contacted a woman driving a green Toyota Corolla in the parking lot of the Rebel Gas Station on Friday, July 13 for investigation of reckless driving. After a consensual search of the vehicle officers found Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia.

Amanda Olivas, 30, of Cedar City, Utah was arrested for Trafficking a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Olivas was also charged with Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance (DUI).

Olivas was transported to the Mesquite Detention Center for processing and later taken to the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas.

Hey what happened to the story about the burglar? That guys story is more important. Now the cops are releasing these petty arrests to try to look good. What gives?

Petty arrest? Are we that de-sensitized? I would say trafficking meth, paraphenalia, and DUI are not petty I'm glad they arrested her and that we are aware of what is going on it the community!

OMG ! You people are killing me.... for every "petty arrest" the PD makes, its one less dirtbag and more drugs off the street. Its not a "petty arrest" its a FELONY!!!! As for the burglary, he is now the problem of the courts. They arent gonna share anything that will hinder the continuing investigation. If you think you can do a better job apply and see if you make the cut in the academy. Its harder than it looks. Glad the PD is sharing whats going on now. Would you rather revert to the old days when all was kept under wraps? GREAT JOB PD ! THERE ARE PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITY THAT APPRECIATE, respect and back you 100%. Keep up the good work.
