"This could be a lucky find for a beginning philatelic enthusiast or long time collector," local resident Jim commented. He did not wish his last name to be used.

He asked the Mesquite Citizen Journal to put out a call for stamp collectors or picture post card collectors who may be interested in obtaining the collectibles.

"I'm not looking for compensation," Jim remarked. "I just wouldn't feel good about adding them to the land fill."

He

explained that the stamp collection has some stamps mounted and in a notebook. "Other cancelled specimens date from as early as around 1907 through the middle 1980s."

Jim added that "there is also a large number of picture post cards that appear to be from the same time periods although I'm guessing on this one. But there are a lot of them for anyone with an interest."
