The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Red Rock/Sloan Field Office will host an open house on June 21 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area Visitor Center. The open house will highlight recreation opportunities on public land in Southern Nevada including full-time commercial outfitters and guides at Red Rock Canyon.
Off-road, hiking, biking, climbing and horseback tour companies will be at the open house and several will have special tours starting from the visitor center or a nearby designated area. Some will offer discounts for future expeditions.
Participating companies include Bobcat Tours, Pink Jeep Tours, Escape Adventure biking and hiking tours, Red Rock Hiking Tours, McGhie’s Bike Outpost, Cowboy Trail Rides horseback riding, and Red Rock Riding Stables at Bonnie
Spring.
The Southern Nevada Agency Partnership Explore RV will be on hand with information about recreational opportunities throughout Southern Nevada.
BLM, Red Rock Canyon Interpretive Association and Friends of Red Rock Canyon will also have information and programs to assist visitors in planning their summer explorations of public lands.
This open house is part of a series the third Thursday of each month to give the public an opportunity to meet BLM staff, get information about projects and planning, and ask questions about the management of Red Rock and Sloan Canyon National Conservation Areas and Walking Box Ranch.
When participants enter the fee booth at the entrance of the 13-Mile Scenic Drive, they should tell the attendant that they are participating in the open house and fees will be waived.
