TUESDAY: DURENBERGER MOVES INTO 2ND WITH 73

Joel Reilly’s score of 95 and net 69 kept him in first place in the Beat the Heat June tournament. But Tom Durenberger’s 73 and net 60 moved him up from fifth to second place, 79 points back of Reilly. Paul LeVan (dnp) dropped to third and John Meyer (87) and net 71 dropped to 4th. Jim “Bubba” Petrick had second low gross with a 37-40-77 and his net 67 put him in the fifth spot. Tom Greer had a fine round that consisted of a pair of 39’s for the third best round and Dick Swayne finished the 70’s players with a 79. Manny Lira (94) had the third best low net score with a 63.

THURSDAY:

LIRA, MEYER PUTTING PRESSURE ON REILLY

The MMGA teed it up at the Casablanca on Thursday and the June Beat the Heat Tournament continues to bounce around positions. Joel Reilly’s (98) lead

is tightening up as John Meyer (81) and net 66 moved into second place just 15 points behind Reilly. Manny Lira’s nice round of 92 netted him the daily low net of 64 and moved him to third place 55 pts behind the leader at the half way point. Dick Jarrett (94) also had a good round and his net 65 was just one back of Lira. Frank Thomasino (79) double bogeyed the last hole but managed to edge out fellow playing partner “Bubba” Petrick (80) by one shot. Petrick’s double bogeys on the last two holes cost him first place. Pat “Smitty” Huetter (84) managed somehow to grab three of the “big” skins.
