A neighborhood information meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 20, from 5-6 p.m., concerning the Hafen Park Water Play Area project. The informal meeting will be held at the Hafen Trailside Park Pavilion.
“City staff will be on hand to explain the project, its recreational and safety features and benefit to local neighborhoods,” said Bryan Dangerfield, Director of Athletics & Leisure Services. “Our desire is to create a safe water play area for Mesquite youth and adults as a complement to our Mesquite Sports & Event Complex splash pad and Recreation Center Pools.”
City Council recently directed staff to begin the request for qualifications (RFQ) process to identify a qualified firm to assist with the design and building of the water project which will include a splash pad, play area, little river, fish pond pumping and irrigation elements. RFQs are due by June 27.
Funds have been awarded to Mesquite from the Clark County Community Development Block Grant program for phase I and will cost around $410,000.
