Firefighters today continued to make good progress on the Barnes Fire located about 15 miles southeast of Caliente, Nev. The wildfire is 90-percent contained. Full containment is expected by late tonight.

Crews and aerial support are making good progress on securing the perimeter of the Barnes Fire, that began at approximately 9:40 am on Sunday, June 10.
The visible 345 acre fire is burning in the Barnes Canyon 15 miles southeast of Caliente, NV, which is about 100 miles northwest of Mesquite, NV.
Cause of the blaze is still under investigation as the fire burns pinon-pine, juniper, and dormant brush.
There are 112 people assigned to the fire, including 4 crews, two helicopters, and six engines.
Full containment of the fire is expected today June 12.
