MMGA - Anderson Beat the Winds to Win
Posting Date: 06/08/2012

TUESDAY: LeVAN - ANDERSON BEAT THE WINDS TO WIN

The MMGA is trying something different for the summer play. Each day there will be a low gross and low net pay out. In addition each month there will be an on-going “Fed-Ex” type of net play scoring for every player. At the end of each month players will be rewarded for their total net points accumulated throughout the month. Today was the first day and Paul LeVan and Jim Anderson weathered the winds and LeVan’s 84 took first place low gross while Anderson’s 92 and net 69 won low net honors.

APERCU’S: Tom Durenberger had the hole of the day at Falcon Ridge on hole number four. He pushed his drive up into the rocks and took a drop. From there he hit his third shot 138yds to within four feet of the cup and sunk the putt for a

routine par.

THURSDAY:

REILLY’S FINE PLAY LEADS BEAT THE HEAT

Joel Reilly’s (90) continuing sharp play put him at the top of the standings. His net score today was a 66 for a second straight number two finish in the first week of the MMGA summers Beat the Heat Tournament. John Meyer’s 80 gave him the low net for Thursday with a 65 and jumped him up to third place. Paul LeVan’s consistent play of 39-37-76 won low medalist honors for the second straight day and placed him in second place just 30 points back. Rounding out the top five for the first week was Jim Anderson moving to 4th and Tom Durenberger 90 points back in 5th.

NOTE: Next week play is on Tuesday June 12, at 7:00 at Falcon Ridge, and Thursday June 14th at the Casablanca at 7:00. Always check your sign - up sheets, and or our website, for any changes. Anyone interested in the MMGA may call 346-6363 or visit our website at mesquitemensgolf.com.
