Over 50 Desert Dames laughed till tears scurried down their cheeks at the humorous animal stories recited by Peggy Pope at their May luncheon. Pope introduced the guest speaker Joanne Migliozzi ( We Care for Animals).

Migliozzi explained the differences between We Care for Animals and the Animal Shelter, what they were all about, along with some heart felt stories. Migliozzi also spoke on behalf of Mindy Myers who was unable to attend due to a medical emergency. The Dames listened intently as all the information was presented even asking questions after.

Next month’s luncheon will be Taco Salad with Shredded Chicken and Southwest Ranch Dressing, Chips and Salsa. Key lime pie has been requested. Coffee and Decaffeinated Coffee, Hot Tea and Iced Tea, The entertainment will be Sabina Bazarbakova, piano prodigy, Bazarbakova composes and writes to various personalities she witnesses in

people around her, among other pieces.

The luncheon will be held at the Casablanca Banquet room on June 27. The cost of the luncheon is $16. Checks need to be mailed and received by June 22. Mail checks to Caren Newbury, 1069 Moonlight Terrace, Mesquite, NV 89034-1027.

Desert Dames is a non-profit social club located in Mesquite, Nevada. Membership is open to residents 21 years of age or older in the city of Mesquite and the communities of the Virgin Valley area, to include communities surrounding Mesquite within a 25 mile radius. The sole purpose of the Club is to help residents of the Virgin Valley get acquainted and promote friendship through meetings, social functions and interest groups. The Desert Dames provide a variety of activities throughout the month including our monthly luncheon, 20 special interest groups, our annual Fashion show Luncheon and other special social functions.
