Morris Workman has emerged on the Mesquite literary scene with his first novel, “Howl of a Thousand Winds.” The former editor of Mesquite Local News is well-known for his award-winning journalism. He won 21 first place awards from the Nevada Press Association during the five years he owned and edited that newspaper, including the prestigious Freedom of the Press Award in 2007 and 2011.
His new book, “Howl of a Thousand Winds,” tells the story of what comes with the winter storms. The snows have arrived and people are dying. But is it Mother Nature taking lives, or something more sinister? Morris’s book is available for sale locally at the Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery gift shop. Morris will be available to sign books at the gallery Wednesday, May 30, 3pm-5pm. Stop in and chat with him about his book, which has topped the best-seller list at publisher Sunbury Press in its first month in print. The Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery is located at 15 W.
