The Tenth annual Mesquite Amateur golf tournament scheduled May 29-June 1 will be kicked off by a blockbuster Demo Day event May 28 at the CasaBlanca Golf Course.

With participation from noted golf equipment companies including Titleist, Callaway and Pure Grips, the event is scheduled from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on the driving range of the CasaBlanca Golf Course.

CasaBlanca Head Golf Professional Mary Ochs said the event will provide big savings on the purchases of equipment in the pro shop. In addition, Titleist and Callaway will both have launch monitors to check the swing speeds for those who would like to try any of the wide variety of clubs that will be featured during the event.

"A launch monitor dissects your swing and also marries you to the right club," explained Ochs, who has been with Mesquite

Gaming for ten years. "For instance, the length and weight of the shaft can make or break the reaction of your golf ball when it's hit.

"This is the perfect opportunity for people who are looking for clubs to have the chance to work with a professional sales staff like John Hahn with Titleist and Eric Meracle with Callaway."

Even better, participation is free of charge throughout the session.

"Also at noon, we will be holding a Big Break Chipping Contest and at 3 p.m. a Big Break Flop Wall will be presented," Ochs added. "It's very interesting and very challenging, but both are also a lot of fun. Big Break is still a very popular golf reality television show that most everyone in golf knows about."

The event will include hourly drawings all day long with the chance to win one of many prizes.
