The following incidents were taken, in part, from the Mesquite Police Department blotter during the week of May 6-12, 2012.All persons included in these incidents are presumed innocent until proven guilty by courts in the U.S.
5/7/12 Burglary:Security Officers at the Oasis Casino called police to report a burglary in progress.Two men were stealing wire from one of the closed buildings.Both men ran and one was found and arrested.
5/7/12 Theft:Police responded to a casino on a report of two vending machines broken into and the money stolen.
5/8/12 Burglary:Officers responded to an attempted burglary on Trailside Way.A lock had been damage on a residence and there are no suspects.
5/8/12 Suspicious circumstances:A citizen reported missing prescription medication from her home but there was no forced entry.
5/8/12 Suspicious person:Officers contacted a subject who was acting suspiciously and walking rapidly up and down the roadway.
5/8/12 Agency Assist:Police responded to a residence to assist Fire and Rescue with a possible
patient who was belligerent and confrontational.He was later transported to the hospital for treatment.
5/9/12 Drug Arrest:S.A.I.N.T officers and detectives stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction.The driver had a felony warrant out of California and the passenger was in possession of drug paraphernalia.
5/10/12 Animal Complaint:Citizens reported that a dog had been left in a vehicle in extreme hot weather conditions without food or water.
5/11/12 Panhandling:Officers made contact with a man who was soliciting money from motorists near a business.
5/11/12 Suspicious person:Police responded to a man wandering around in the parking lot of a convenience store.He was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and hypodermic needles and was taken to jail.
5/11/12 Animal complaint:Neighbors called police to report a Great Dane running at large, barking and acting vicious.The dog was returned to its owners who were cited for animal at large and no proof of rabies.
5/12/12 DUI arrest:An officer made a traffic stop for an aggressive lane change without signaling.The female driver was found to be under the influence and was arrested.
