MMGA - Reilly Scores, Hattrick Wins
Posting Date: 05/04/2012

Joel Reilly’s golf game must be improving. He had the so-called “trifecta” or “hat-trick” with three chip-ins. One for a birdie, one for a par and the third for a bogey. For the second straight Tuesday he has shot very well and again this Tuesday at Falcon Ridge shot a front side 44 and a back side 49 for 93 and net 65. He was the low net winner by six shots over Joe Woodward (102) and John Lewis (97) both who had net 71’s. Woodward shot bogey – bogey on the first two handicap holes to win second while Lewis went bogey – nine for third. Bob Chambers (85) was all alone in 4th low net with his 72.

APERCU’S: Jim Anderson had the shot of the day on the par four number 4th hole. From some 60 yds out his sand wedge to a very up front pin rolled in for a “sweet” birdie three.

Wait one minute! Did the MMGA actually have two players in the “witness protection program” win at the Canyons on Thursday or were they actual bonafide members. In any case someone with the name of “Bubba” Petrick tied someone with a name of “Smitty” Huetter both

shooting great rounds of something like 74. “Bubba” turned his card of 36-38 in first followed by “Smitty”‘s card of 38-36. Great rounds guys! One shot back of these characters was the nice round of 36-39 turned in by Neil Hendricks. That guy “Bubba” took the overall first place low gross on the third handicap hole with a par on #5 and the other guy had a bogey. But the other guy was not disappointed because his score was a net 63 and tied fellow member Dick Jarrett (92) also with a net 63. This was Jarrett’s best round in some time….good round Dick! This other guy won first place low net over Jarrett with a par on #6 to Jarrett’s bogey. All alone in third low net was another good round turned in by Tom Greer with a 38-41-79 and net 64.

APERCU’S: On the 11th hole this guy “Bubba”, from 90yds out, hit a low screamer towards the green that actually hit down in the cup on the fly and rebounded back out some 15 feet where he two putted for his par.

NOTE: Next play is on Tuesday May 8th, at 7:00 at Falcon Ridge, and Thursday May 10th at 7:00 NOT 6:30 at the Canyons our monthly mini-trny. Always check your sign - up sheets, and or our website, for any changes. Anyone interested in the MMGA may call 346-6363 or visit our website at
