In support of the Virgin Valley Community Food Bank, local restaurants have agreed to supply ”Mystery Meals” to lucky ticket purchasers. For a $10 ticket, the ticket holder gets a “Mystery Meal.” It might be a $30 meal at Scotty’s Bar and Grill at Falcon Ridge Golf Course, or lunch at Samari 21, Canton Chinese or Panda Garden. Or lucky ticket holders may receive a pizza at Bella’s Pizza or Pizza Hut, dinner at Peggy Sue’s Diner, Playoff’s or the Oasis Grill Room. Or, perhaps they will receive lunch or breakfast at Lee’s Tavern, Golden West Casino, Conestoga 1800 Grill, or The 19th Hole. Or maybe they'll get two Value Meals and dessert at McDonalds or a buffet at the Virgin River or the Eureka Experience. Every ticket is a winner!
“Mystery Meals” is a fund raiser brain-child of a Las Vegas Group, Krupa, Soto & Gilman. After debuting in Mesquite, the idea will be gifted to Food Banks throughout the country. “We were approached with the idea and we loved it, so we gave it a try,” stated Leslee Montgomery, Food Bank Manger.
Tickets are on sale this week. There is a limited amount and they are selling quickly. Tickets can be purchased at the Virgin Valley Community Thrift Shop, 312 W. Mesquite Blvd., Mesquite Plaza, Unit 112, Monday through Friday 9-4 and Saturday 9-1. The drawing/restaurant match will be held April 16th. All tickets must be redeemed at the Thrift Shop after that date. Winning numbers will also be posted in the Desert Valley Times and online at Mesquite Citizen Journal, www.mesquitecitizen.com.
