Mesquite Challenge at Falcon Ridge Golf Course
Posting Date: 03/22/2012

The Mesquite Challenge was held at the Falcon Ridge golf course on Wednesday, Mar. 21. The two man team format again turned out to be a close race. Best ball front side and a scramble on the back nine.

Two teams finished within a stroke of first place for the closest finish we have had in all the Challenge matches. A net score of 58.64 vs 58.96 for a difference of only .32/100 of a stroke. With Bogie Bob Chambers and his partner Clark (kp) Mitchell with a five birdie round taking the 1st place cash prize over the second place team of Glenn Hood and partner Steve Fennimore. I'm sure there was a stroke that they could have saved that would have put them in the winners seat.

The third place prize went to the team of Ricardo Morris and his partner Jim Buttler who won by less than a half

stroke over the next team and only a stroke and a half over five other teams The par three winners were rewarded with a pass to the Monday Falcon Ridge Skins Game, donated by Brian Wursten. Winners were--hole #2-- Frank Thomasino-- hole #5 Steve Fennimore-- hole #8 Alex Churchich-- hole #14 Glenn Hood-- and a double winner on hole #17 Stan Nickle and Dave Calmelat.

A good time was had by all on a day that we all in Mesquite brag about. No wind and 80 deg. temp. And as always, the fine treatment from Brian Wursten and his staff to make us welcome and appreciated. After golf the teams enjoyed a great lunch provided by the Falcon Ridge club house crew.

Anyone wishing to join in this type of Golf Tourney can contact me at 702-346-2714 or Brian Wursten at the Falcon Ridge club house, 702-346-6363.

Thanks to all who joined in. Jim Buttler.
