MMGA - Jordan shoots great round, comes up short

Dave Jordan kept his golf buying steak intact with the purchase of a $400.00 putter. It probably is the ugliest club made but evidently Scotty Cameron knows what he is doing. And once Jordan putted a few holes he caught on and shot a nice 36-38-74 one of his better rounds in some time.  [Read more]

Playing from the middle tees on Tuesday was not the place to be evidently. Three MMGA members played from either the back or the front tees and all three broke 90. Eleven of the other 12 shot well over 90. Yes the winds were up again but it is the same for everyone.  [Read more]

MMGA - Yeh is back

Andrew Yeh may be back at the top of the MMGA premier golfers. On Tuesday at Falcon Ridge despite an uncomfortable wind he recorded six birdies and shot 73 even with a quadruple seven on the par three 14 hole. [Read more]

Wilfred aces Canyons' 7th Hole

Nancy Wilfred aced the 7th hole at the Canyons on Monday afternoon, March 10, for her first ever hole in one.

She used an 8 iron that hit just short of the green bounced on and rolled some 20 feet to the cup and disappeared. Witnesses were her husband Erv, Tom Durenberger and her brother Paul Bach.

The 2014 Mesquite Cup is history and a few warriors licked their wounds and teed it up at Falcon Ridge on Tuesday. John Meyer, aided by two birdies and an unfortunate triple bogey six on the par three 17th almost shot his age but settled for medalist honors two shots better than Tom Durenberger.  [Read more]

Six Qualify at Desert Launch for Long Drive Championship

Josh Crews hit a drive of 409 yards to win the Desert Launch, and was one of six to qualify for Championship Week in Mesquite in September.

Mesquite, Nevada -The 2014 RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship season is officially underway and the first winning drive of 400+ yards has been recorded. Josh "Superman" Crews, a member of the Callaway Golf Kings of Distance team, hit a drive of 409 yards in the Shootout of the Desert Launch to win the title. He earned $1,000 for the win in addition to one of the six spots that were available for the championship finals week in Mesquite, Nevada.  [Read more]
