Melanie Giarratana - Cowboy DawnPosting Date: 08/15/2012
I was going through some of my Dad's paintings, and I came across this photo that he had taken from which to paint---I believe it was taken in Arcadia, Florida, in the "Cracker Cowboy" area. (In case you don't know ---and I didn't---the "Cracker" part comes from the sound the whip makes---not from any foodstuffs!) Anyway, I was able to scan it. He called it "Cowboy Dawn." Also not sure if I could submit it on his (Graem Yates) behalf.
