Photographer and educator Michael Plyler returned to the Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery on March 11 to present the monthly brown bag lecture sponsored by Virgin Valley Artists Association. This is Plyler’s second lecture in the long-running series, his first being his photographic essay of the Yucatan, done in black and white photography. For Tuesday’s appearance, Plyler developed a new lecture on a topic dear to his heart: the role art played in creating and memorializing national parks. [Read more]


Artists and Poets Vie for Gallery Prizes - Video

This month, the Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery features its popular annual exhibition of “Artists and Poets.” The exhibition, which shows through April 5, is presented by the Virgin Valley Artists Association, and sponsored by Mountain America Credit Union. Forty VVAA artists have selected favorites from nearly 100 original poems submitted by poets in several states, and created artwork based on the theme of the verse.  [Read more]
